About Us

MicroPaleoWorks is a woman owned and operated US-based company that manufactures micropaleontology slides. Founded in 2023 to provide high-quality and customizable solutions for micropaleontology, geology, and oceanography researchers who study microscopic organisms and mineral grains.

Our slides are fabricated, packaged, and shipped from Corvallis, Oregon.

​

The paperboard we use to fabricate our slides is made of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) 100% recycled paper.

Jennifer Fehrenbacher: CEO/COO

Jenn is Associate Professor at Oregon State University. She studies modern and past climate change, primarily through the ecology and chemistry of microscopic plankton called foraminifera (or "forams" for short). She has used micropaleoslides for over 20 years and the lack of options for purchasing supplies in the US prompted her to start manufacturing them. Tom Fehrenbacher - CFO

Tom worked in the financial services industry specializing in financial derivatives for 25+ years. He currently works at Oregon State University in Academic Affairs supporting scheduling and curriculum management. He holds a BS from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

William Herbert - Sales Engineer

Bill is a former business owner with over 50 years experience in sales and manufacturing. As the former owner of a gear manufacturing company he has extensive experience fabricating parts and building relationships with industry partners.
